Vernaccia di San Gimignano Riserva 2021
Tasting Notes: The aromatic profile is complex, with notes of citrus, marine hints, and a subtle spiciness reminiscent of mustard. On the palate, acidity and sapidity are well balanced, offering a taut structure and good persistence.
Technical notes: The grapes come from a vineyard at 400 meters on tuffaceous soil. Fermentation and aging take place in new French oak barriques for 12 months, with bâtonnage on the fine lees. The wine then rests for 7 months in stainless steel and 24 months in bottle.
The Winery: Panizzi has long been a benchmark producer for Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Production is overseen by winemaker Walter Sovran, with consultancy from Alessandro Cellai.
