After a well-deserved Christmas break, Panizzi's activities resumed in full swing in the last month, bringing wine, people, energy up and down Italy and Europe. Here are the highlights of the last thirty days, Susanna Santini and Walter Sovran being protagonists in promoting Panizzi full throttle.
Wine & Siena 2017
We started out with our province on Saturday 21 and Sunday, January 22 with Wine & Siena, the event - now at its second edition - signed by the creators of the famous Merano Wine Festival. The two-day event included a tasting happening in different locations in the most representative and evocative places of Siena. The tasting features the best Italian winemakers (about 250). The products were carefully selected from the winners of the annual Merano Wine Award to represent, in this nice winter event, the excellence of Italian wine productions. This interesting art-architecture-wine blend proved quite successful since only a beautiful city like Siena could guarantee a unique experience like this one.
One further note of interest: Panizzi was chosen to be one of the sponsor of the Small Plates Gala, a special wine-food pairing between producers and restaurateurs of the area: our Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG Riserva 2012 proudly accompanied a gourmet toast with crumbled chicken liver and anchovies by Ristorante San Desiderio of Siena.
Meanwhile, in Panizzi
At Panizzi January was an important moment because the first creature of the year was bottled: we are talking about our Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG 2016, the base, the pin, the foundation of our production, in fact. Everything went according to plan, the wine is ready for the most anticipated event of the year: the Preview of the Vernaccia di San Gimignano which is taking place these days and you'll read the detailed report soon.
Germany mon amour
In Germany, you know, our Susanna feels at home and every time she visits the welcome is incredibly warm. For her first visit of the year, Susanna chose the beautiful are of Lake Constance, taking up where she left off her work of Ambassador of Vernaccia di San Gimignano of excellence in the world. In this area, you can find Meersburg, San Gimignano's twin city, so dear to Panizzi.
Susanna was accompanied by agent Stephan Maute: their first night they dined at Pinocchio in Konstanz with Maurizio, the owner, who - together with his inseparable wooden puppet - reserved Susanna and Stefan a particularly warm welcome. The same thing did Pino and his family, that the two met in his restaurant Ambiente da Pino in Heiligenberg.
The last leg of their trip was Ravensburg, and more specifically the club Kantine Ravensburg where a big thank you goes to the chef and manager Vincenzo and to all participants in the Panizzi wine tasting. Bye Germany, we will see you again very soon.
Back in Milan
Right after landing, Susanna represented Panizzi at another important promotional event: the evening dedicated to Indigenous Wined by AIS Milan and Luxury Wines. Thank you very much for the nice organization and support. More than 600 people, curious and prepared, attended since the opening. We believe that our declensions of Vernaccia di San Gimignano was much appreciated as well as out Folgòre among the reds.
In these days the Preview of Vernaccia di San Gimignano organized by Vernaccia's Consortium is taking place. Panizzi is in the front row along with their fellow adventurers who engage daily in promoting of this incredible wine. Stay tuned for a detailed account on this important event.
