From Panizzi's core business, wine, let's move on to hospitality and start with some #panizzipeople portraits concerning people who also work for Fattoria di Larniano, Panizzi's sister company exclusively dedicated hospitality and tastings. Francesco Publico, gardener and maintenance man, has a decidedly clear view on what must be his priority while working for a company that focuses on its customers: the constant search for perfection. Let's find out more about him.
#panizzipeople 15: Francesco Publico
What's your job at Panizzi?
I am a maintenance man and a gardener at Larniano and Santa Margherita.
What is the skill that those who do your job cannot absolutely lack?
Accuracy. When cutting the lawn or arranging the plants, even the smallest corners count and detail is everything. Tourists deserve everything to be perfect.
What do you like the most about your work?
I like everything, no preference, as long as it serves the company and makes the experience of those who visit us absolutely perfect.
What did you do before working at Panizzi?
I worked a lot in tourism or better in hospitality: I worked in bars, in a hotel, in various restaurants in Poggibonsi, Certaldo and San Gimignano. I also experienced working in a factory but, apart from this little parenthesis, I have always served in contact with people on vacation or during leisure or relaxation.
What do you do in your free time? What are your passions?
I have also been a gym instructor. I taught for many years postural and pilates gymnastics. That comes in handy now, since I'm not a kid anymore.
What is your favorite Panizzi wine?
I am not a savvy drinker, but there is no doubt that Panizzi's wines are good, Vernaccia Santa Margerita and Riserva in particular, simply spectacular, an inch above the competition.
What is your favorite place at Panizzi?
Santa Margherita, because of its landscape and position: you are in the middle of Chiantishire and the view is incomparable.
What is your favorite place in San Gimignano?
La Rocca is my very facourite place, where my childhood memories resurface. From the tower, you can see the whole valley and the whole city of San Gimignano. Just exciting.
