Ceraso Panizzi is made from sangiovese and merlot grapes originating in the vineyards of Larniano, situated on the SW area of San Gimignano on a tuff soil with 400 m elevation.
There are several areas in Italy that are decidedly interesting for the cultivation of Pinot Noir. We believe that San Gimignano is one of these areas and we are ready to prove it.
The name Vertunno is derived from the names of the Etruscan God and Godess – Voltumna ane Veltha , who presided over the changing of the seasons and the ripening of the grapes.
Since 2018, the Vertunno Chianti Colli Senesi Riserva (created in 1989, a concentrated wine which is aged in barriques) has its counterpart in the Vintage version, born in 2018, a young, nimble, "feminine" wine.
