We had the honour of welcoming Fernando Pardini to Panizzi and on this occasion we opened the vintages of the last decade in Panizzi, starting with the 2011 vintage.

We are delighted to share some of his technical tasting notes, you can read all his notes in the article dedicated to the tasting session of Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

VERNACCIA DI SAN GIMIGNANO RISERVA 2011 Rich but gracefully so, a substantial fulness emerges accompanied by notes of resins, herbs and sweet sensations linked to its age, vintage and oak, to make it an accommodating, relaxed and comfortable trait, without the acuteness of big vintages. Grapes from Cotone.

VERNACCIA DI SAN GIMIGNANO RISERVA 2012 Extraordinary vitality marked by airy tones, a mineral and citrus (grapefruit) tone and a wide, complex and extremely juicy taste dimension, stimulated by a vibrant acid force, by a valuable overall complexity. Ah, its grapes, in this year of transition, come from Cotone and Larniano.

VERNACCIA DI SAN GIMIGNANO RISERVA 2015 Beautiful aromatic fullness, where the floral stamp and citrus nuances definitely open to elegance; wide mouth suitably dense, with mineral overtones and an unfolded finish. Indeed, a sweeter aromatic note evolves in the glass, and the trait gradually settles on a warmer and more Mediterranean register than the Nordic and stiff profile of a 2016.
